The
Learning Technology Center (LTC) is Illinois’ technology system of support for K-12 school districts and educators. As a program of the Illinois State Board of Education, the LTC supports all public K-12 districts, schools, and educators through technology services, professional learning, consulting, resources, and statewide initiatives.
Since 1995, the LTC has helped Illinois schools strengthen their use of technology to improve teaching, learning, leadership, operations, cybersecurity, data privacy, and digital access. The LTC works in partnership with school districts, educators, technology leaders, and statewide education partners to provide practical support aligned to the needs of Illinois schools.

How the LTC Supports Schools
The LTC provides free and low-cost support through a variety of services and statewide initiatives, including:
- Professional Learning and Events: On-site PD, regional workshops, webinars, Administrator Academies, online courses, regional networking opportunities, statewide conferences, and other learning experiences for educators, administrators, instructional leaders, and technology staff.
- Education Consulting: Guidance and support for teachers, instructional coaches, librarians, and administrators on instructional technology planning, classroom implementation, AI use, digital learning, program evaluation, educator capacity-building, and school or district leadership practices.
- Instructional Coaching: Embedded, customized coaching that helps educators integrate technology into lesson design, instructional planning, classroom practice, student engagement, assessment, digital learning, and responsible technology use.
Technical Consulting and Support: Technical assistance and advisory support for technology planning, IT leadership, cybersecurity, data privacy, infrastructure, shared-service staffing, mentoring, IT assessments, incident readiness, and district technology operations.
- Technology Funding, Purchasing, and Evaluation Support: Purchasing, funding guidance, connectivity support, product evaluation, procurement planning, and other services that help districts make informed, cost-effective technology decisions.
- Resources and Guidance: Practical tools, templates, publications, reports, recommendations, and implementation guidance that help schools navigate technology-related decisions, requirements, and emerging issues.
