The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federally funded voluntary program that provides reimbursement for participating organizations to plan, purchase, prepare and serve nutritious meals to eligible children while maintaining documentation to support those meals. Public, non-profit, and for-profit, nonresidential child care centers, Head Start/ Early Head Start centers, preschool programs, before and after-school hours programs, after-school programs in low income areas, and emergency shelters are eligible programs that can participate in the CACFP.
