Pursuant to Section 1A-8 of the School Code, ISBE is required to monitor finances and identify school districts that are in or moving toward financial difficulty.
The Financial Profile Score Commenting System provides an opportunity for districts to explain significant financial circumstances that resulted in the district's profile score. Districts that wish to include their story in the 2026 Financial Profile Score Report may do so in the School District Financial Reports system by following these steps by
May 1, 2026:

Login into
IWAS and select School District Financial Reports (SDFR) found under System Listing > Reporting > Annual > School District Financial Reports.
- In the left column, select Financial Profile.
- Click on the
hand
icon and then on
View Report (top right). This report shows the district's preliminary financial profile score.
- This report should match the tentative score provided in the district's Annual Financial Report.
- Districts may
leave comments in the User Comment box (500 characters maximum). Click the Send Message button to have the comments included in the Financial Profile Score Report.
The Financial Profile Scores will be adjusted to include FY 2025 delayed Mandated Categorical Program payments and will subtract FY 2024 delayed Mandated Categorical payments. These scores will be posted on ISBE's website at
School District Financial Profile once complete.
Please note that your preliminary Financial Profile Score report will not be listed in the IWAS system if ISBE has not received your FY 2025 AFR. If the auditor has recently submitted the FY 2025 AFR to ISBE, please allow up to a week for the agency to process it.
