Over 100 educators with expertise in the Illinois Learning Standards worked in grade band and subject teams to develop these drafts. The teams met every other week from September 2024 through February 2025, often volunteering additional time and effort.

Revised Performance Level Descriptors are now available for a second round of feedback. We invite you to share your input using this Performance Level Descriptors Public Comment feedback form or by emailing ESSA@isbe.net through June 15.

We are sincerely grateful to everyone who provided thoughtful comments and suggestions during the first round. We have carefully reviewed all feedback and worked to incorporate as many suggestions as possible. In addition to specific revisions, we have also made broader updates based on the key themes raised during our listening tours. Your continued input is essential as we refine this important work.​​​
